My life, as told through my purse.

In 40 30 15 years, when my back and shoulder problems have caught up to me, I will be able to pin-point the major reason I am lopsided and semi-hunchbacked: my love of big purses. I do not have "little" purses, except for the Coach purse I bought for my birthday last year (happy birthday to me, from me), and the only reason it is small, is because that's what I could afford. Otherwise, I love big purses. I carry my life around, and by the end of the day, my poor shoulders are not my biggest fans. One day I will learn, but today is not that day. So, what is inside my bag of tricks? Well, let's see!

My purse, and my daily needs include:

  • Burt's Bees lipchap. Obsessed with it. Burns the living daylights out of your lips if they're super chapped, but so worth it.

  • MAC Cremesheen Glass in Japanese Spring . Perfect pale, goes with everything color, awesome as a stand alone, or on top of lipstick. And, smells like vanilla. Yum!

  • MAC Lipstick in Rebel. ALL-TIME Favorite. As in, if they ever discontinue this shade, I will buy 10 sticks. In the tube it is very disarming and deep deep, purple. On your lips, it is the perfect shade of berry, I wear it all. the. time.

  • Gum. In my family, we are obsessed with gum. I have random packets all over my house, car, purse, jacket.. you get the point.

  • Wallet, Keys, iPhone (in the cutest little case).. the Necessities.

  • Almonds. Perfect snack on the go, and calm down the "mean hungries" or "hangries" - angry hungry - in a flash.

  • Larabar. Gluten free, and again, see above. I'm not very nice when I'm hungry.

  • "Red Fruits Nectar" shea butter hand cream. Smells like Maui, papaya and mango all in one perfect tube.

  • Make Something Good Journal. This has been a project of mine, to start living the mantra that everyday might not be good, but there is something good in every day. I use this to write what was good about my day, even if it's just that my hair was really shiny and worked. It counts.

  • My "Fashion" Journal. I use this when I see a cute outfit that I want to "re-create" and need to take notes on it, I use it to make my "Winter/Spring/Summer" must have lists for what I want to add to my wardrobe for the next season, and generally where I put all of my rambling thoughts.

  • Hair clips. It has been a long, trying battle to achieve my long hair, and I love it so, but  static season is upon us, and some days, when it has stuck to my lips for the 356th time, it's gotta go up.

Not pictured: Receipts crumpled up elegantly from the last decade, loonies/toonies, and lollipops I use for bribing purposes.

Xo,

  1. Nice read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing some research on that. And he actually bought me lunch as I found it for him smile So let me rephrase that: Thank you for lunch!

  2. Fun post Bri! I also believe it is vitally important to have a notebook/journal on one's person at all times. The sign of a writer! I have a love/hate relationship with purses. They seem so necessary, but I hate digging through all the stuff to find my ringing phone or some small item that is lost among everything else.
